About

I'm Adeboye Richard Olaniyan, a UX designer based in Arlington, VA.

For the last five years I've owned end-to-end product design at Symplicity, a B2B platform used by university career centers: research, prototyping, user testing, accessibility, and developer handoff.

I treat AI as a core part of how I design, not an afterthought. My work starts in Claude Code and Cursor, where I prototype flows as working code and validate assumptions before committing to high-fidelity design in Figma. I also build one tool a week and write about it at One Tool a Week.

I'm driven and inquisitive about all things design. Learning the craft is what keeps me in it: how good decisions get made, why some interfaces feel right, and how new tools keep changing what designers can do.

Before Symplicity, I designed geospatial data interfaces at New Light Technologies for clients including the World Bank and UC Berkeley. I hold an MA in Emerging Media Design and Development, with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction, from Ball State University.

I'm currently exploring design engineering and AI-native product work. If you're building in that space, say hello.
